Frequently asked questions

It can be hard to estimate how many people will appear at an event. During the winter, attendence is usually anywhere from 20-25 people depending highly on the weather. During the fall and spring it is usually 40-50. During the summer is it usually 50-70. These numbers have been slowly increasing as DarkFire becomes more well known and popular.

Not for open plays, if you arrive late, we will give you an individual safety brief. However, we do generally recommend trying to be at the field for the mass briefing if you have never been to our field before that way you can meet all of the staff and get a more immersive experience. However, many minisim or milsim events may require more explanation and therefore may require you to arrive on time.

We have a small store on site that can be used in emergency (lightning, frostbite, etc) but we do NOT have a building for a safe zone.

While it is highly unlikely that you will breach your minimum engagement distance(MED) (unless you have a high MED) it is possible. Once you are within your range, you have several options. First, you could switch to a sidearm with a lower MED. You can also try for a melee kill with any melee simulating weapon as described on our rules page. Lastly, you can attempt to use "bang bang," while it is not mandatory that a player accepts a bang kill, they just might.

Our field is exclusively outdoors. We have 38 acres of all woodland area to play.

We generally recommend bringing no less than 10 players since less than that will limit what game modes you can play (this is not a requirement, but a recommendation). You can bring as many as you want up to 30 players. If you wish to bring more than 30 players, please contact us ahead of time so we can discuss further details.

No, you are free to come and go throughout the day as much as you please. The only restriction to this is if you rented equipment from us. All rental equipment must stay onsite, but if you leave the equipment with us, you are welcome to leave, then come back and pick it up when you are ready to play again.
